If we get this right, then we lessen (not eliminate) the possibility of being deceived. • Maintain our biases out of fear. Fear of change. Fear that there is a different truth. • Lack of good judgement• As an escape route.• Hear what we want to hear. We lie to ourselves and often don’t even realize it.• Can we trust our heart/emotions/passions?• Laziness. We convince ourselves that we can’t change, simply don’t want to.DOING IT A LITTLE BETTER INCLUDES:• Cultivating discernmento Extrinsico Intrinsic• Your tribe of 5. Give them permission to call you out and speak the truth.• Examine your motives. Ask the “whys”. • Stop taking constructive criticism as a personal attack.• Stop trying to convince everyone that you’re right.• Quit doubting yourself. Heritage has long-published these hefty “Mandate for Leadership” volumes, hoping to shape Republican policy. Progressive think tanks do the same thing. These are wonky, wishful laundry lists that serve more as vision boards than checklists for governing. And it’s business as usual.As for the specifics of Project 2025? There’s a good chance that it doesn’t say what you think it does. For instance, one graphic that’s been widely circulated lists 31 policies supposedly found in Project 2025. Main Points- Raise the retirement age: False- Cut Social Security: False- Higher Taxes: True, but it depends on income- Ban contraceptives: False- Cut Medicare: False- End Affordable Care Act: Not end, but adjust subsidies- Eliminate the Department of Education: True- Use public taxpayer money for private religious schools: True- Teach Christian beliefs in public schools: False- No tax tip example- RNC 20 - Possible vs probableThe Maverick Perspective- At least they have a plan!- Envision what could be.- Go out on a limb and declare your intentThe Mystic Perspective- Look for the good- Believe that people, in general, are trying to make things better- Listen to the Holy Spirit for guidance.The Mentor Perspective- Don’t pass along false information.
